Fair trade In New Zealand
Fair trade ANZ is an Australian and New Zealand owned company which is a member of Fair-trade international. This company owns and has this right to licence their fair trade logo to fair trade companies so they can use the stamp on their products so consumers know it is a fair trade product. To get this stamp the company has to meet the fair trade standards.
Coffee is very important to developing world countries such as Vietnam, Brazil and Columbia, these countries are a some of the worlds largest export others of coffee.
The International Coffee Agreement was created in 1962 but has been tinkered with when needed to up until now (keeping inflation and an improvement in fair work environments). Fair trade agreements and partnerships are created by organisations respecting and abiding by laws involving communication, transportation and equality in international trade. All of these factors combine to make work environments better in general for farmers. A big factor in this means no child labour allowed at all when producing coffee.
