Further Development: University Student / Trend Setters Audience

From our in-class feedback it was evident that this was our weaker concept out of the two we showed. The most important feedback that we got was that the style is quite contrasting to what Fair Trade is about and the general aesthetic that it is related to. To take this on board we decided to go with one suggestion we got with using "Fair Trade is not a game", utilising our current style.

KEY WORDS:
  • Movement / Progression
  • Mechanical (contrast to Fair Trade)

Style Elements:
  • Angled neon lines, fading out of existence:
    • The angle shows dynamism and movement through the page bleeding off the edge as well as fading out.
  • Game styled font:
    • Keeping the arcade game aesthetic present but only subtly using it so it isn't overpowering. The text also is our point of call, to draw in the audience and get them thinking about our cause.
  • Coffee cup lives:
    • Added these to push the overall style toward coffee and more connected with Fair Trade as well as the game design.
  • "Be the Movement"
    • Our call to action, what we want people to do.

CONCLUSION:
I found really hard to create a design that kept with the arcade game style as well as connecting it more with Fair Trade Coffee. I still feel at this point it isn't quite hitting the mark even though it has progressed from our original concepts.

We feel that it would be really hard for us to continue with this target audience and style to produce something that is very effective. Unless we come up with some miraculous idea very soon, we will most likely end up going down the business workforce / minimalist info-graphic route.
